This thesis discusses the concept of nothingness through the lens of art, philosophy, and everyday experiences. Through the exploration of the usage of nothingness in art and design, the thesis highlights how nothingness is utilized to evoke emotions, provoke contemplation, and challenge societal norms. Ultimately, this research emphasizes the interconnectedness of existence and the transformative power of embracing moments of silence, absence, and ambiguity in navigating the complexities of human life.




Snapchat (2023).


...when I look back at those photos I saved on Snapchat, I don’t remember the exact moments or the reasons why I took them. The memories are foggy, but the photos are so vividly present in the album. I accumulated some of those snapshots in a poster, and deliberately concealed the content. You can’t see much in this poster, but you can see that there is definitely something hidden underneath. We might be tempted to say that we see “nothing.”
